If your home is 10 years or older you are at risk for a flood!
Flood and water damage can be very costly and inconvenient – ruining basically everything in its path.   Below are a few tips to help minimize the damage:

                  - Replace all shut-off valves under sinks, toilets, washing machines and refrigerators.

                  - Replace water heaters before they leak because once they decide to go it will take hours to clean the garage and anything stored on the floor will be potentially destroyed.

                  - Have all under sink drain lines inspected at least once a year.

                  - Located, inspected and know how to shut-off your main house valve, just in case of an emergency.

                  - Often times we forget cocking is used for more than keeping our bathtubs, showers and kitchen sinks looking nice.  Maintaining your cocking joints throughout the house is very important, it creates a barrier between your walls and countertops and the water.

                  - Keep your exterior walls dry by keeping sprinklers from spraying against them. No exterior wall should be getting wet on a regular basis.  This habit greatly increases your chance of water damage and mold in the walls.

                  - Check your exterior area drains; keep them clear so they flow properly.

                  - Have you noticed an increase in your water bill?  An increase in your average gallons of water usage may be a sign of a leak.
